For my hubby

Hi

Over on Docrafts this week, there was thread in the forum asking
"If you could make one card for anyone who would it be and why?"

Lots of us answered and our thoughts were from deceased relatives, to famous people and a few of us also mentioned our hubbies.

Well, mine has been having a tough time of it recently, and I really admire him for sticking with it, even though it's tough.  So on Saturday, I thought that I would make him a card to let him know just what he means to me ........... and here it is.

The Front

The inside front

What he really is to me

I'm quite a softy at heart and had not made him a card, since I started all this in May 2011.

Recipe:

Kanban toppers
Black cardstock
Gold Miricard
Kanban backing papers
Tim Holtz clock and pin
Black ribbon from stash

I am going to enter this into the following challenges:

Bearly Mine - One for the Boyz
Creative Craft Challenges - Minimalistic
Deep Ocean Challenge - Vintage

Hi Everyone,

Theres a new blog in town .........  it's called Just Inspirational Challenges.  Anyway, there first challenge used a gorgeous picture of fall, stunning colours, which inspired me to make my friendship card of the month using flowers and the colours in the picture.
Brilliant News, I made the top three.  Fab.  I am sooooo chuffed.

Thanks girlies.

So go on pop on over and have a look at their fab challenge site and give it a go.

and now for this:

The Craft Barn is giving away an amazing £200 of goodies to ONE lucky person.  All you have to do is become a follower, leave a comment and write them up on your blog.  To be drawn on the 25th November 2011.

I live far away from their shop, too far to travel from Somerset, but their fab online store is brilliant and stocks so much, mmmmmmmm salivating about all that paper just thinking about it, and dies, and glues, and pens, and glitter and oh the list goes on and on and on.

So go on pop on over and have a little look see, but don't forget to come back to see me again.

And now for something completely ..........

different for me.   A few weeks ago I met up with loads of the other DC members and we had a fun day.  It was great and we made Christmas mini albums.  Well I have now finished mine and here it is......

This is the front cover

The first two pages

Then the next two

and finally the last two.

The back page is the same as the front.  We were not allowed to use any Dies or machines to cut out all the houses etc.  Each card lifts out and has three photo mats.  All the papers used were from my stash and the snowflake tops were cut by Angie.

Previously to that I had been on a course at my local Garden Centre, Monkton Elm, and done a one day starter course on Memory Books.  This is mine from that course.

The front cover

inside the front cover

a couple of the pages with photo mat inserts

I had great fun creating this and used some butterflies from my stash to simply decorate

Recipe

Black cardstock
1 x A4 paper pack Kanban Oxford
PaperArtsy Stamp Set
lots of red and white tape and glue
four different MS punches
TH distress Inks

The final instalament ...........

No not of my blog sillies, but of the Docrafts Christmas ABC challenge.

Wow, I never thought I would get to the and yet I have and now sadly I miss my little bit of "what can I do starting with this letter .............. ", lol,   some were definitely easier than others.  Anyway without further ado here is the final few, from U to Z

U = unassembled

V = view and very

w = winter wonderland

x = xmas

y = yuletide carols

and lastly z = zzzzz

I hope you have all enjoyed looking at these as much as I enjoyed taking part in the.  And I would like to thank Ginny (AsIDoRodos) for orgainising the challenge and for all her hard work.

Life is like a garden ...................

I decided today that I needed to experiment with the TH distress inks and grunge paper that I recently bought.  I also wanted to use some of the fab papers from TH that I have in my stash...........  as well as the fab new collection of stamps from PaperArtsy.

This is the result ....... what do you think ??????????

Inside my card

The front of my card

A close up of the front

I did not use any backing papers behind the central panel, instead I distressed the paper with Distress Inks and then stamped a complimenting image all over in distress and momento inks.

The central panel was distressed around the edges and stamped with Momento ink.

The back and inside of the card was also distressed and another central panel added with a verse.

I made my flower from TH Grunge paper, using the Sizzex tattered florals dies, and then coloured with distress inks..  ......  (NOT A SINGLE PROMARKER IN SIGHT !!!!)  lol

I added a small stick pin for some bling.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
