my little boy is off

to Germany with the School.  This is the first time he has been abroad without family and is a little bit apprehensive.  Soooo I made him a keepsake (memory) book to take with him.

I have put in some private messages, one for each night, and left lots of space for him to put momentos, such as tickets, sweet wrappers etc to remember his trip.  Then of course there are the photo mats, onto which he can mount his favourite snaps when he gets back.

I have used the fantastic Portebello road papers by Papermania for this.  The tags are again from some jeans.  I used a martha steward punch.  The embellishments are all from my stash, they include a bluebird, a memories zip pull, and of course the Union Flag.

mmmmmm New Jeans ............

which of course meant labels.  Every crafters dream.  These labels are always trendy and can be incorporated into some project or another.

So of course, when my son said can I wear these, I said yes, but give me the labels, complete with twine.  Yummy!!!  Anyway I knew as soon as I saw these labels what they were going to look like on the completed project and so here they are:

As you can see I used one of the great Kanban toppers teamed with these labels.  I distress the labels with TH distress inks, to match the colours in the topper.  The papers are from Kanban and from Papermania Forever Friends black and gold collection.  All have been edged with TH distress inks.  The labels inside I cut from the same papers as the front and used embroidery thread to make the ties.  The tattered floral is made from the black and gold collection and the beautiful centre is by We are Memory Keepers.  The gorgeous wings are of course Tim.

I hope you love this one as much as I do.  I think I have a new fav at the moment.

Lavenders Blue diddle diddle,

or so the nursery rhyme says.  This gorgeous colour is the inspiration for the challenge over on the Anything Goes Challenge Blog.  Add a bit of lace and you have a truly girly creation.  Something all us girlie girls love.

I used a fantastic Sweet Pea stamp that I have had for ages, isn't she gorgeous, and then one of the Spellbinders Nestability dies to cut her out.  She was coloured with Promarkers and I added a little bit of TH Stickles to make the flower sparkle.  The backing was cut using the same die in various shades of lavender, purple.  The beautiful papers are from First Edition and the lace is from my stash, as are the flowers, which I coloured with promarkers and the card candi.  The sentiment is a Tulip one.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend .............

Morning to all my fellow crunchies out there.

I hope your day has started brilliantly and that the sun is shining wherever you are ..........

Today's card is for the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog Design Team.  Our theme this time is Glitter and Bling.  What girl doesn't love a little bit of sparkle, whether on her person or in her work.  So go on pop on over and join in and let your inner child out and play with that glitter.  Go on you know you want to.

I had great fun doing my card this time, the Tim Holtz stickles came out - it gave me an excuse to go out and buy that fantastic yellow - soooo pretty.    I chose to use a Humphrey image for this card.  It reminds me of my best pal.  The two of us sat drinking coffee, having a chat and putting the world to rights.

The gorgeous papers were freebies from Pink Paislee, the ribbon and flowers from Papermania, the fantastic birdcage from my stash and the senitment is from the Papermania Tulip Range.  I cut the image using a Spellbinders Nestie.

I hope you enjoy looking at this one as much as I enjoyed making it.

Crafty hugs for now
