Feeling Romantic ............

Over on the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog this fortnight we are being sponsored by the fantastic Pink Gems.  The challenge this time is borders and frames.   I chose the gorgeous Pointsettia Heart for my image.  It is just so pretty, why wait and only use it at Christmas.

I coloured it in using my promarkers and dovecraft chalks, cut complimenting hearts using my Spellbinder Nesties and layered these up.  The border was created using a Martha Stewart Punch.  The papers are from my stash.  I love the very subtle colours and shades and felt this was quite a romantic card ..............

Crafty hugs for now ..

Summer Days ..............

no no, not the title song from that great movie Grease, but the theme of the new challenge over on Anything Goes.

What does that conjour up for you, for me it holds childhood memories of the beach, long hot sunny days, bike riding, picnics and fun all summer long.  How sad, that it's not the same these days, so I decided to turn a negative into a positive thing when making my card.

The image was given to me by a friend, and was wonderful to work with.  I have coloured here with Promarkers and Dovecraft Chalks.  The papers were some freebies last year, and have been sat in my stash.  The gorgeous stickers were from Accessorize (last year).  I made the sentiment with a Lili of the Valley stamp and some ribbon from my ribbon box.   The border was punched with a Deep Martha Stewart Punch and the flowers are from Papermania.

Hope this has made you smile, there's nothing quiet like making sandcastles in the rain on the beach!!

Hugs to all

Spots and Stripes ........

and not a gold medal in sight ..............

Hello to all of you out there in blogland.  Are you watching the Olympics?  If so, I hope you are enjoying them.

Well, firstly sorry I have not posted for a while, I have been to Centre Parcs with my family.  We had a great time, and ate far too much in their amazing restaurants ..........  oh well, back to the diet again.

I have been crafting and have had the pleasure of working with some amazing images this week, courtesy of Bugaboo.  They are sposoring the Cutie Pie Challenge this week, and we had the opportunity to pick our favourite image to work with.  Given the challenge theme this week, I just couldn't resist ladybirds .............. I love to see them flitting about in the summer sun ........ so as you can imagine that's quite a rarity these days.

As always we have some amazing sponsors over on the Cutie Pie Challenge this week.  So go on hop on over and have a look at what the rest of the fabbie DT team have come up with for your inspiration and see what you can do with spots and stripes ...............

The moment I saw these cute ladybirds, I knew I wanted them to really pop off the card,  they have been coloured with Promarkers and then finished off with Glossy Accents.  I deliberately kept the rest of the colour scheme to black and white.  I dug out my Papermania liquorice capsule collection papers, some spotty buttons from stash, as well as ribbons and bows.  Finally I added card candi.

I love the colour scheme on this one, I hope you do to and that I have inspired you.

Hugs for now.

Lavenders Blue diddle diddle,

or so the nursery rhyme says.  This gorgeous colour is the inspiration for the challenge over on the Anything Goes Challenge Blog.  Add a bit of lace and you have a truly girly creation.  Something all us girlie girls love.

I used a fantastic Sweet Pea stamp that I have had for ages, isn't she gorgeous, and then one of the Spellbinders Nestability dies to cut her out.  She was coloured with Promarkers and I added a little bit of TH Stickles to make the flower sparkle.  The backing was cut using the same die in various shades of lavender, purple.  The beautiful papers are from First Edition and the lace is from my stash, as are the flowers, which I coloured with promarkers and the card candi.  The sentiment is a Tulip one.

Polka Dots

Well as you already know I'm behind on all my postings at the moment........... must try harder.

Anyway over on the Anything Goes challenge blog, it's polka dots with birthday.

This is my card.  I have used the fantastic gorjuss, coloured of course with Promarkers  (who has polka dots on her brollie!!)  and then layered her over some Country Companions paper.  I have added a Tim Holtz stamped sentiment, cut with a Spellbinders Nestie, coloured with Dovecraft chalks, and some beautiful ribbons.  The edges of the card were also coloured with Dovecraft Chalks.

This the inside, again the papers are from the Country Companions range, I used this brilliant verse from the Wellington Range, as is the little girl hugging the bear.    The ribbon is from my stash again.

A very simple card to do, but one which hope you will agree is quite effective.

Hugs

I've got Tim Holtz on my ........

Hi to all my fellow crunchies.  How are you all doing?

As some of you guys know I have had a really rough year so far, but am getting there and as a little bit of inspiration I decided to use some good old Timmy to cheer me up every day.

Yep I've had Tim tattooed on my person.  The first was done last week and the second is being done tomorrow:

I have decided to use two of Timmy's inspiration pieces to make me believe that life does go on and that I can do it ........ so here's the first.  Its still a bit bruised but is looking fantastic.  And it's true we should live in the moment and make is so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.  Cause I know now that they pass way to quickly.  Check back next week to see what I am having done tomorrow.

What do you think Timmy would say????

CUITE PIE CHALLENGE NO 19 - Easel with a sketch.
Over on my other blog - The Cutie Pie Challenge - we are having a brilliant challenge this fortnight.  It is an easel card using an optional sketch.  We are being sponsored by the fantastic Stamp and Create store  and the fabulous Kenny K.  I just love the Kenny K images and have chosen Lady Victoria to work with

I used some freebie papers from a my stash - they were from last year and have stamped them with cogs from Creative Creations Steampunk stamps.  The sentiment is also from this set.  I have layered the papers and edged them with the fantastic edging tool by good old Timmy.  The beautiful flower is an old brooch.  The flowers are from stock.

Why don't you hop on over and see what the other girlies have come up with.  Their creations are stunning and I would love it if you joined in.

Hugs

Beautiful Fairies and Flutterbys

Hi everyone, today's card is my DT card for the fantastic Anything Goes Challenge Blog.  Don't forget you can shop at the brilliant Craft Den - Lyn is always pleased to see her challenge entries popping up in the online shop.

Our theme this fortnight is Flutterby Butterfly.  Anything with wings ...........  I have sooo many gorgeous stamps and images of butterflys, fairies and birds that it took me ages to choose which image to use.  However the gorgeous fairy used is a digi image from Make it Crafty.  She of course is coloured with Promarkers.  The papers are all from First Edition - the Dreamcatcher and New Leaf collections.  The background paper has been stamped with a gorgeous tailors dummy and butterflies by Creative Creations.
I have layered the image onto black netting and added a black spotty ribbon bow finished with a butterfly charm.

I hope you like her.

It's Cutie Pie time again and Tim loves his cupcakes

Hi everyone, today's a great day, the sun is shining and I had a fantastic afternoon with my gorgeous son. We went shopping and finally managed to get him some "Skylander" characters.  Not to mention that at thirteen he already knows exactly how to order his coffee in Costa.  (A man after my own heart - lol)

Today's challenge over at the Cutie Pies has caused all of the DT a real headache.......... I mean .......... how can a girl possibly choose a single ................. yes a single favourite cute stamp.  JUST ONE ......... and only one..............  you have no idea how hard it was, but I am hoping that you soon will.........

Go on pop on over to the Cutie Pie Challenge and join in.   It's been great fun making this card for this challenge.  Anyway here's some detail about the challenge ...

We are sponsored by the lovely Gayle from Teddy Bo & Co, There are so many fantastic Digi Images, a growing collection of Die Cut Dies and lots more, so why not pay a visit to Teddy Bo Towers today!  Well one lucky Winner will bag

Anyway for my card I chose to use the fabulous Timmy Tiger with his cupcake for my friend's birthday card.  So here's timmy in all his splendour.....

Tim has of course been coloured with promarkers.  I then layered his onto squares nesties.  The card has been folded back on itself and I have added a home-made stick pin tied with a chiffon ribbon.  The badge was from a scrapbook kit I had for christmas.  The beads for the stick pin were from my stash.  The sentiment is from Kanban and the papers are First Edition.

I must confess that I had to have a cupcake after colouring this one in............ so go on pop on over to either Teddy Bo Towers or to Digital Delights and find yourself a new favourite, or you could recyle an old one.  All the DT are waiting to see what you come up with ........ who knows we may even discover some new fantastic stamp which could become our favourite.

Hugs for now.

My first Blog Award and Anything Goes

Hello my fellow crunchies.

I have some really exciting news.  I am really honoured to have been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award and would like to thank Tina for thinking of me, thanks for all the lovely comments you leave on my blog too.

The Liebster Blog Award is used to show appreciation of smaller blogs (under 200 followers) and to help spread readership and joy.

As part of the tradition the award is to be passed along to five other blogs that have motivated and inspired me.

The name comes from the German meaning Dearest or Beloved, but can also mean Favourite.

To accept this Award you must:

1.  Link back to the person's blog who gave it to you, and thank them.

2.  Post on your blog.

3.  Give to five other Bloggers who you appreciate and value.

4. Leave a comment on the five blogs you choose and let them know.

Now comes the difficult bit ...........  how do you only choose 5 - yes only 5 blogs to pass this award on to.    I have (in the words of Lloyd Grossman) deliberated and gogitated and have come up with the following who have inspired me.  They are in no particular order and I could have chosen many many more.

1.  Tamara at  Posh Cat Crafts
2.  Lee at Crafty Loops
3   Hazel at hazelshandmadecrafts.
5   Wendy at The-craftmonkey

Well today's Tuesday and that means it's time for another great challenge over at Anything Goes.  This is the second DT card I have made for this blog, and I just want to say that the team is fab and has made me very welcome.  Thanks guys.

The theme of our challenge this fortnight is Boys to Men.  I can hear you all groaning from here ........ YES it's a dreaded man card...........  why oh why can't they like hearts and flowers and pink and stick pins etc etc etc.  All the things us girlies love .............. sadly they don't but hey don't dispair the fab DT team have come up with some great cards to give you plenty of inspiration.  So why don't you pop on over and join in the fun.

My card has been made for my son's 13th birthday this year.  He's 13 on the 13th.  He's mad on motorbikes and is very into all this union jack stuff about - hence the theme of the card.  I have used a basic card from stock, and the new Papermania Portabello Road papers.  The image is a digi from Prairie Fairy and is coloured with Promarkers.  The sentiment has been layered onto glitter card and is from Kanban.  I distressed the edge of the papers with TH distress inks and used  spellbinder nesties to create my layers.  The fab union jack was a dog tag from Poochie Pets.

Hugs and happy crafting.

Hi and it's cutie pie challenge time again.

Hi everyone.  It seems like ages since I have posted.  (Well it is a fortnight (lol) and that's eons in a crafters life!!!)

I hope each and everyone of my lovely crunchies are keeping well and that you are getting loads of crafting time in.  Sadly for me the last fortnight was spent moving into my lovely new house.  The kids and I are now settled and I have finally unpacked the craft stuff.  So I can get back to what I really enjoy doing!!

Anyway today's Monday so that means its time for another cute challenge over at The Cutie Pies.  This fortnight's challenge is a combination of pearls and swirls, well what girlie can resist pearls or swirls.  Anyway the fab design team have been hard at work creating some truly inspirational projects for you.

This is my DT card

The gorgeous image is from Wee Stamps who are sponsoring this challenge.  I think it's just too cute.  I have coloured my digi stamp with Promarkers and then used TH Stickles glitter to highlight the edges of the leaves.  The heart shape was cut using Spellbinders Nesties.    I made my stick pin from several old necklaces, which I have dismantled.  The swirls are of course the fab Tim Holtz, whilst the papers are from First Edition.  The sentiment is from Kanban.

Hope you like it, and I have inspired you to pop on over to the Cutie Pies.

Crafty hugs to you all

Flower Power

Hi everyone

Well what a fortnight it's been. Firstly thanks to everyone who left comments for me and hugs on my Blue Valentine post.  -  I apologise for not posting much this week, but I am moving so things have been very busy.  I have a lovely new little house that I am sure the kids and I will be very happy in.

Anyway today's post is a card I made for my fantastic sister-in-law  for her birthday.  The card is also my DT card for the wonderful Cutie Pie challenge this fortnight.  The challenge is flower power.

I have used a Make it Crafty image for this card.  I love these - they are fab to colour and always look wonderful. The backing papers are first edition.  The sentiment is from the Tulip range by Papermania.  I have of course coloured her with promarkers.  The edges were inked with TH Distress Inks.   I kept it quite simple as I wanted the image to really stand out and the backing papers are really glitzy.

I hope that you'll pop on over and join in our fab challenge.

Hugs to everyone
