Feeling Romantic ............

Over on the Cutie Pie Challenge Blog this fortnight we are being sponsored by the fantastic Pink Gems.  The challenge this time is borders and frames.   I chose the gorgeous Pointsettia Heart for my image.  It is just so pretty, why wait and only use it at Christmas.

I coloured it in using my promarkers and dovecraft chalks, cut complimenting hearts using my Spellbinder Nesties and layered these up.  The border was created using a Martha Stewart Punch.  The papers are from my stash.  I love the very subtle colours and shades and felt this was quite a romantic card ..............

Crafty hugs for now ..

Summer Days ..............

no no, not the title song from that great movie Grease, but the theme of the new challenge over on Anything Goes.

What does that conjour up for you, for me it holds childhood memories of the beach, long hot sunny days, bike riding, picnics and fun all summer long.  How sad, that it's not the same these days, so I decided to turn a negative into a positive thing when making my card.

The image was given to me by a friend, and was wonderful to work with.  I have coloured here with Promarkers and Dovecraft Chalks.  The papers were some freebies last year, and have been sat in my stash.  The gorgeous stickers were from Accessorize (last year).  I made the sentiment with a Lili of the Valley stamp and some ribbon from my ribbon box.   The border was punched with a Deep Martha Stewart Punch and the flowers are from Papermania.

Hope this has made you smile, there's nothing quiet like making sandcastles in the rain on the beach!!

Hugs to all

Polka Dots

Well as you already know I'm behind on all my postings at the moment........... must try harder.

Anyway over on the Anything Goes challenge blog, it's polka dots with birthday.

This is my card.  I have used the fantastic gorjuss, coloured of course with Promarkers  (who has polka dots on her brollie!!)  and then layered her over some Country Companions paper.  I have added a Tim Holtz stamped sentiment, cut with a Spellbinders Nestie, coloured with Dovecraft chalks, and some beautiful ribbons.  The edges of the card were also coloured with Dovecraft Chalks.

This the inside, again the papers are from the Country Companions range, I used this brilliant verse from the Wellington Range, as is the little girl hugging the bear.    The ribbon is from my stash again.

A very simple card to do, but one which hope you will agree is quite effective.

New digis at Make it Crafty

Hi everyone,
As many of my fabbie fellow "Crunchies" know stamping is my passion, my former favs were LOTV, but since I have discovered digi stamps, and their fantastic ability to be resized I have fallen in love with Make It Crafty.  I now have about 10 of their amazing images and just love the print quality and the way they colour up.

This card has been made for my amazing God-daughter's 18th Birthday.  I have printed and coloured the fantastic  Anastasia  from Make It Crafty and then I have torn around the edges.  The other papers are all torn and are from Kanban Industrial Collection and Graphics 45.  I just loved the colours in the Graphics 45 paper and decided to base my colouring on those.  Dovecraft chalks were used to shade the background to this gorgeous image.

The flowers were made with Tim Holtz Grunge Paper and then distressed and glittered.   The 18 was cut on the Cricut.  I made my gorgeous stick pins from my bead stash and the pretty butterfly is from a necklace I no longer wear.  The card was stamped with TH distress in with a Papermania stamp.

I hope you all love this, as Much as I hope Charlie Lou will.

Hugs

Yep, me again, I am still here.

I am not entering this card into any online competitions this week, but am going to be applying for a DT position with Make it Crafty. Although they are based in Australia and I live in the UK, I would love the opportunity to be part of this design team.    I am fairly new to crafting (only a year in May 2012) and feel that I have grown and am still learning.  Having only recently discovered the brilliant benefits on digi crafting - I cannot shout enough about their gorgeous stamps.  Many of the cards in my postings during the last few months have been made using MIC stamps.  Here is a link to one I made for my Daughter.  She was in a school play and I used the image on a twisted easel card.  I used the fantastic Elizabeth stamp and matched my papers and colours to my daughter's favourite ones.  http://crunchiecrafts.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/with-love.html

I also used another of these fantastic images as a card for my hubby who left me in January for another woman. The image was "Anabelle".   The card was for his birthday and the theme was a song ........ I chose "Jolene" by Dolly Parton, and this image fitted the description perfectly.  (Sadly he never got the irony!!)
I am fascinated with the 3d kits they are producing and the gorgeous gingerbread houses are really taking my fancy, just perfect as gifts for my little ones at Easter. But then the fantastic chipboard embellies would be great on my cards, allowing me to add my own colours to such great shapes.  Well I could go on and on about how much I am loving their fantastic products, and what would be on my wish list, but it would be remiss of me not to mention their new blog layout.  It's great and sooo easy to use.

I think many of my fellow "Crunchies" will agree that card making is my fav type of crafting, but I am getting to the stage where a little bit of 3d would be fab.  My embellies are getting bigger, and so are my cards, so perhaps this would be good.  I also love cake making, can't you just see cupcakes inside that Gingerbread house, oooooh I can and now i'm hungry.  I feel that being on such a fab team would give me further inspiration and the chance to use a range of products with which I have yet to experiment, further adding to my inspiration pot and experience.

Thanks for this opportunity Zoe and good luck to everyone else that has applied.

Hugs

Lisa x

Hi,  Don't forget today is the start of another great challenge fortnight over on the Cutie Pie Challenge.  Our challenge this fortnight is a recipe.

Lilac/Silver Tones
Fairy Image
Lace/Ribbon
Glitter
3 Buttons/Flowers

For my GTD card I used a Meljens image.  She's so cute.  I have added some bling as well, she has a great sparkly necklace and a gorgeous pearl centre to her flower.  My card is from Hunky Dory as is the sentiment.  The ribbons and bows were from my stash, as was the backing paper.  The border is a Woodware punch.  I have added the glitter using Ranger Stickles Glitter glue and have chalked the background using dovecraft chalks.  Hope you like her.  She is of course coloured with promarkers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Autumn is coming .............

Firstly I have a confession to make, it's been really hard to be indoors doing crafty bits, when the weather has been so brilliant.  Not like autumn at all really.  I have taken my colouring outside to the garden and used our trees as inspiration for this card.

The back layer is embossed Coredina'tions paper in a mustard colour.  I used a Cuttlebug flower embossing folder for this.  The rest of the papers are from Desert Blooms from First Edition.  The sentiment if from a Forever Friends embelishments pack.

Gorguss was coloured with my promarkers and the background was coloured using Dovecraft chalks in greens, greys and reds.  The spots on the mushrooms were coloured with a white gel pen.

I couldn't find a paper I wanted to use to match the floral paper, so I cut a small piece and then distressed it with dovecraft chalks, again using reds and browns.  To finish this card off I added a lovely handmade green bow.  This ribbon is fab and has crinkly edges.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

My first blog challenge - here goes nothing ............

Well I've read the instructions on how to do this and have found a challenge to enter.

I've made the card and hopefully will manage to link to it.

This is my card.  It's for the LOTV challenge - Thank you.

I coloured my LOTV image with promarkers - colours used are
Soft Peach, Pastel Yellow, Rose Pink, Pastel Blue,Moss, Vanilla, Ivory and Baby pink
I made my flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered florals die, together with a Papermania flower and a small pink sequin.  The lace edge is made using an X-Cut Border Die. The background was coloured with Dovecraft chalks - pastels and shimmers. The paper was a present from a friend.
