World of dreams background technique class

Hi guys, Stampin Up and Crunchie Crafts make a great team.

In today's post:
  • A world of Dreams and a bonus technique class.
  • Birthday Celebrations Day 3
  • Feel Goods

A world of Dreams ........

Thats the name of one of my new stamp sets from Stampin Up.

I don't know about you guys but I see a lot of silhouette cards on peoples blogs and I always fancied having a go.  Especially the ones where they have such lovely backgrounds.

Well, I ordered my set, I just love this one, so cute and it has birds on it too. Next I set about doing some research and some trial runs to see how it was best to create these cute backgrounds.

The easiest way is this

Background techniques using a clear block.

Take you clear plastic block and colour it with your Stamp'n'Write markers in your chosen colours.
Next spritz your block with water.
The press down on your paper.
This transfers all the ink to your paper leaving your block clear and your paper with a beautiful coloured background ready to stamp on.

Today I am going to show you the card made using the tall stems in this set.

Bermuda bay with matching DSP and Basic Pearls

Blushing Bride with matching DSP and three small flowers

Tangerine Tango with some basic jewels to finish it off.

Aren't these just so cute.  I love the way the backgrounds really set of the image.  This has been stamped and then stamped off a second time to create the slightly lighter one.

For Maddie ................

Hi everyone, do you remember a few posts ago I showed you the start of a memory book I was making for a special little girl called Maddie?

I'm sure you do, if not you can find the link to the post here ............  Maddie's Book

Anyway, I finished the book not long after that, but didn't show you the whole thing as I wanted to surprise Maddie's parents with the book, and I know that Kayleigh sometimes looked at my blog.

To finish the book, I used lots more stamp sets - all from Stampin Up! and a little bit of ribbon from my stash.

The inside front cover was made using our fantastic MDS programme.  What's that you ask?  It's our brand new digital design programme.  This programme is so versatile, you can make just about anything with it.  Anyway I made this page and inserted it into the front of the book, turning this project into a Hybrid project.

So I wanted to share the finished book with you guys.  Here it is.

The back

The first page etc

Photo tags, on which to write you memories
The back cover
All the pages were either stamped in Strawberry Slush, Primrose Petals or Blushing Bride.  You can see all the different stamp sets used in the pictures above.  (If you would like to know what any are leave me a comment and I will answer you, or contact me on my email:  craftybirdlisa@gmail_

I hope you have enjoyed looking at this gorgeous book, as much as I did making it.

I also wish Maddie and her Mum and Dad, and whole family lots of love.

Have a brilliant crafty day.

Hugs

Lisa xx

Do you want 15% off your butterflies ..........

As promised yesterday,  I have got another fab project to show you using the gorgeous bitty butterfly punch and the papillon potpourri stamp set.

I have been making a memory book for a friend whose little girl was born with brain damage.  They are raising funds for Maddie and I wanted to give them something personal, as well as my donations to their fund raising.

Maddie is a gorgeous little girl and is definitely a pink princess ......... so it was only right that I used pink in the scrapbook pages.

I have used Strawberry Slush, Primrose Petals and Blushing Bride as my colours

Have stamped using the butterflies and also used the punch to layer them up

There are all the eight pages so far.  Next they get to be made into the scrapbook.

Aren't they gorgeous?  These little butterflies are so versatile and always look great.
